Pete Largo can‘t stop it and is still gigging across Europe, attacking the Ears, Legs and Hearts of the people, live and without Mercy. 1979 Pete Largo founded the first own group. The DOWN-TOWN BLUESBAND, became one of the top Bands in Berlin, during the early eighties and Pete Largo personally an important part of the „Wallcity“ Music History. The Band recorded one album, did a lot of concerts in clubs, halls and festivals all over Berlin, like Quasimodo, Metropol, Tempodrom etc. and West- Germany. Some radio shows and very good press also helped to make The DOWN-TOWN BLUESBAND known nationally and more. In March 1985 the Band played it's last gig in the legendary "Quartier Latin" in West Berlin. Whenever they performed there, it was always packed, and a lot of musicians still have fond memories of the owners, Manne Sass and his wife Christa. They remain in the hearts of many musicians all over the world, and will not easily be forgotten Pete   Largo   was   already   honoured   1986   by   the   German   Bundespräsident   for previous   work   on   the   music   scene   in   Germany.   During   the   first   half   of   the eighties   Pete   Largo   organized   many   events   and   festivals   in   the   city   and   and leaded   also   some   other   projects   for   the   departement   of   culture   in   Berlin.   In need   of   new   input   and   inspiration,   in   1987   Pete   Largo   moved   to   Portugal, wrote Songs and played Gigs across the european Countries. In   the   begining   of   1990   Pete   Largo   founded   in   Lisbon the   The   Downtown   Bluesmen   and   started   working with   Jerzy   Sokolowski.      A   TV-show   on   RTP   and   a concert   in   Faro   at   the   1993   Motorcycle-Festival,   in front   of   15.000   people   helped   put   the   Band   on   the map   in   Iberia.   They   also   played   gigs   in   clubs,   discos and    open-air    events.    Pete    has    known    Jerzy    from Berlin   days,   where   in   the   seventies   he   was   the   front- man for the Rockband „Walpurgis“. At    the    "Centro    de    Artes    Interpretativas"    in    Trafaria(Lisbon),    along    side    of musicians    like:    Eddy    Goltz,    David    Gausden,    Leo    Garcia,    Tahina    Rahatari; JoaoMalo,   Johnny   Galvao.   Pete   Largo   also   worked   as   a   teacher   and   says always,   that   it   was   a   great   inspiration,   injecting   the   blues   virus   into   the hearts   of   young   students,   sharing   the   own   experience   on   blues   guitar   with them and see them growing. Around   that   time   Pete   Largo   started   the   Project   „Pete   Largo   &   Band“   and   is hitting the roads until today, published two albums and the People love it. ……
